Rhyze Oyster Mushrooms - 250g
Rhyze Mushrooms is a not-for-profit worker’s coop focused on harnessing the decomposing power of mushrooms to grow food from local woody waste products. Pearl Oyster Mushrooms In the wild these grow on dead or dying deciduous trees, but Rhyze grows them on a mixture of local business byproducts made up of: 70% sawdust, 15% used coffee grounds and 15% coffee chaff collected from coffee roasters. Beautiful and meaty, the Oyster mushrooms make great additions to stir-fries, soups, pies or pasta dishes and are known to convert sworn mushroom haters to funghi enthusiasts. They are also incredibly healthy, with high levels of fibre, protein and important vitamins including D and B12.
The Granton Loaf
Granton Garden Bakery aims to provide an affordable and accessible source of healthy bread. The bakery is not-for-profit; any proceeds will go to support the work of Granton Community Gardeners, the charity of which the Bakery is a part. All their bread is made with three priorities in mind: health, flavour and affordability. It has just 3 ingredients: water, salt, and heritage flour, grown locally and organically and stoneground by Scotland the Bread, organic flour from Mungoswells in East Lothian, or very occasionally flour from their own Granton-grown wheat. GGB ferment their bread slowly, making it more tasty and more digestible.

A box of 6 free range, organic eggs. From Croft Organics, who are a family run, organic farm located on the southern outskirts of the town of Penicuik, on the edge of the Pentland Hills, close to the city of Edinburgh.

This fee covers costs associated with purchasing and maintaining the reusable jute bags that we pack all the CSA produce into. It is paid once per year and will be reviewed annually based on how many bags are able to be reused vs. buying in new stock. The bags currently cost us £5 each (inclusive of VAT), and each member requires three bags. Fees are payable within our solidarity pricing model.

Mossgiel Bottle Deposit Placeholder
Mossgiel package their milk in glass bottles. If you choose to add milk to your CSA membership, a bottle deposit charge will be added to your first bill. Each time you collect milk from the CSA shed, you will also drop off your empty (& washed) bottle for Mossgiel to collect. At the end of the season your bottle deposits will be refunded to you. Here’s an example of how the deposit charge works if you add a weekly order of one bottle of milk at the standard rate to your CSA membership: Week 1 You collect your first milk = £1.75 + £1.00 deposit Week 2 You collect your second milk = £1.75 + £1.00 deposit, and return your first bottle. You now have two bottles in circulation. Week 3 through until Week 28 milk = £1.75 Week 29 (the last CSA delivery week) milk = £1.75, & you are refunded £1.00 bottle deposit charge Week 30 (no deliveries this week) you are refunded £1.00 bottle deposit charge
